One, final chat

Jess, Nikki and I got together again to talk about our digital artefacts. We’ve considered how they’ve progressed since our previous discussion, and talked over some changes or aspects we would have like to make or consider in future projects. Check out our discussion below (backup link).

Project updates

I have been working on my final contextual report, where I want to explore what I could have created knowing what I’ve learned over the semester.

Jess has used our feedback to expand into blogging about the products on her Instagram and experimented with using Pinterest boards to gain an audience.

Nikki focused on creating scripts for her project to better manage her time. He’s looking into options for sharing those scripts to use them as DA content.

Key takeaways

  • Digital artefacts that aim to answer a question work well, because then if you ‘fail’ an approach you have other options. However, that question needs to be specific enough that you don’t get caught up in all the options.
  • Using collaboration could be a great way to keep up motivation. It provides the pressure of other people checking in on your work regularly, and the opportunity to see what others are doing for their projects.
  • Reframing how we view digital artefacts – rather than viewing a DA as the backburner project, they should be viewed as an opportunity to experiment and create a portfolio.
